Your presence makes a difference.

Parents and guardians, we would love to have you involved at Haude. You might read to your child's class, run a game at the Fall Festival, help set out flags on Veterans Day, or join a committee. Every one of those starts with the same short application, and every one of them matters to the students who see you here.

How do I volunteer at Haude Elementary?Complete the Klein ISD Volunteer Application through the district's Raptor system at tinyurl.com/KleinVolunteer. It is free, takes a few minutes, includes a confidential background check, and must be submitted again every school year. When the district emails to say you are cleared, choose a role: Classroom Readers for PK through second grade, an event shift such as the Fall Festival or Veterans Day flags, the Dads of Haude group, or a PTO committee. Questions go to haudeelementarypto@gmail.com.
Step one, every year

The Klein ISD volunteer application.

Klein ISD asks every volunteer to apply each school year, because the safety of students comes first. The application is online, free, and includes a background check. The results stay confidential; the principal and the PTO never see them.

1. Open the applicationGo to tinyurl.com/KleinVolunteer. It opens the Klein ISD Volunteer Application in the Raptor system.
2. Fill it inYour name, contact details, and the campus where you plan to help. Review the district's criminal history standards before you submit.
3. Watch for the district's emailKlein ISD will email you once you are cleared to volunteer. Approved applications are kept for the 2026–27 school year.
4. Sign in at the front officeBring a photo ID every visit. The office checks you in and prints a visitor badge.

Good to know

  • The application is annual. If you volunteered last year, you still need to apply again this year.
  • There is no cost to apply.
  • Background check results go only to the district's central office, never to the campus or the PTO.
  • If you have a question about your application or approval, call the Haude front office at 832-484-5600.
  • Younger siblings are welcome at evening and weekend events. During the school day, volunteers need to be free to help.
Classroom Readers · PK–2

Come read to your child's class.

Parents of students in pre-kindergarten through second grade are invited to visit the classroom and read aloud. You choose a date on your grade's sign-up sheet, bring a favorite book or borrow one from the teacher, and spend part of a morning with a room full of attentive listeners. It is one of the easiest and most rewarding ways to volunteer at Haude.

Our Volunteer and Parent Reader Coordinator, Desiree Payment, keeps the sign-ups below. You will need an approved Klein ISD application before your first visit.

Reader sign-ups by grade

Each link opens a SignUpGenius page with the open dates for that grade.

A place for dads, grandfathers, and uncles.

Dads of Haude brings the men in our students' lives onto campus for events, projects, and the kind of help that needs an extra pair of hands, from the Garden Building Day in October to the Fall Festival setup in November. Anthony Woods coordinates the group, listed on the board as J.A.G.S. of Haude.

Where dads tend to show up

  • Veterans Day flags, Wednesday, November 11
  • Morning greetings at the front doors through the year

FAQ

Volunteer questions.

Do I have to be a PTO member to volunteer?

No. Volunteering requires an approved Klein ISD application, not a PTO membership. Many volunteers are members as well, because membership gives them a vote on how the PTO spends its money.

Do I really have to apply again every year?

Yes. Klein ISD treats the volunteer application as an annual one, and every volunteer must reapply for the new school year. Approved applications are kept for the 2026–27 school year only.

Who sees my background check?

Only the district's central office. The principal and the PTO are never involved in screening, and they never receive information about anyone's background check. If an application is declined, the district contacts the applicant in writing.

Can I volunteer if I work full time?

Yes. The Fall Festival is on a Sunday afternoon, S.L.A.M. Night and Cookies and Stories with Santa are in the evening, and the yearbook committee welcomes photos by email at any hour. Tell the board what your schedule looks like and they will help you find a fit.

Can my younger child come with me?

To evening and weekend events, yes. During the school day, the district needs volunteers to be free to help, so little ones should stay home for classroom reading and daytime shifts.
